All cast members must be in 8th through 12th grade during the upcoming school year AND at least 13 years old by August 1st of the upcoming year.

Step 1 – Application
*Applications are the same for both new and returning YQL cast members.
Option 1: Complete the first part of the application online by clicking this LINK (online applications close May 22nd). You will still need to download a signature page by clicking HERE to complete the parent release and pastor recommendation component (link is also available at end of online application.) Once signed, the signature page can be mailed to the YQL P.O. box by May 20th or can be scanned and emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org by May 22nd. More info can be found on the application.
Option 2: Download a paper application by clicking HERE. These applications (including signature page) can be mailed to YQL prior to May 20th. More information can be found on the application.

Step 2 – Cast Placement COVID-19 UPDATE:
Cast Placement Video Interviews will be held digitally on Saturday, May 23rd from 10:00am-6:00pm. All new applicants must sign up for a 20-minute time slot on our SignUpGenius by clicking HERE by May 22nd. (Returning cast in drama or tech are not required to interview or audition unless you have taken a year off and are coming back.)
Cast Placement Audition Requirements:
DRAMA TEAM: Create and perform in skits, human videos, videos, etc. For your Cast Placement Interview on May 23rd, please prepare a short 30-45 second monologue. In the past, people have used excerpts from Disney movies. Costumes welcome but not required.
TECH TEAM: Work behind the scenes and help with lights, sound, cameras, stage setup, creating props and videos, social media, photography, etc. For your Cast Placement Interview on May 23rd, please be prepared to chat with us about what you are interested in tech-wise.
DANCE TEAM: For your Cast Placement Audition, please wear modest clothing, including a leotard, tights, dance pants, and t-shirt. Please note that while we have many exceptional dancers who audition for the dance team, there are limited spots available for this part of the YQL team. Please prepare a 30-second choreographed piece to the song of your choice. There will be an in-person audition day for dancers in June at Redeemer Church. Please ensure your email is accurate to receive future updates about this date and time.
WORSHIP TEAM: We are auditioning for musicians and singers. Please note that while we have many exceptional musicians and vocalists who audition for the worship team, there are limited spots available for this part of the YQL team. For your Cast Placement Audition, please prepare your part to TWO songs on the playlist in the link provided. Vocalists should also prepare for melody AND harmony (low, high, or both) for songs chosen. Send a video of you performing your part of both songs to firstname.lastname@example.org by May 22nd. Step 3 – Cast Retreat
Information will be given upon completion of steps 1 and 2 for those accepted into the cast.
